The French Country style dining room has blue handmade raised wood panel walls and a white painted wood joist ceiling. With no large Christmas tree this year, the English pine dining table holds blue and white Christmas packages around a tabletop Norfolk Pine tree.
The blue and white gift bags and boxes have been collected over the years and coordinate with the blue and white dining room.

Blue & White Dining Room
Using blue and white Christmas gift wrappings meant the Christmas decorations blend with the everyday colors in the room, and give the dining room a festive Christmas look without changing the room's color palette.
The dining room is the first room visitors see after the foyer. Having it decorated for the holidays sets the stage for the rest of the house.
A large gold painted Christmas ornament metal crown makes a beautiful gift package trim. The package still needs its large gold ribbon.
The large silver metal urn is designed to hold ice and champagne bottles, but its large size makes a great container for the live Norfolk Pine tabletop tree.
Some of the bags are beginning to look wrinkled, but with special glittery bird and snowflake tags still are pretty to use.
The JOY bag and blue and white French scroll bottle bag sit on the old church pew with a blue linen pillow and boxwood wreath. When there is a large crowd, including children, at the dining table, the old church pew serves as a dining bench for the table. You can also squeeze one more little one onto the bench.
For this Christmas, the pew is decorated to go with the blue and white gift bags on the dining table.
The white ceramic ornament stars came from Target many years ago. Always thinking about Christmas, I think I may try to make some white stars using clay from the craft store next summer. I like the odd shape of the star on the scroll bag. When what you like is no longer available to buy, making it yourself is worth a try.
Christmas Eve is tomorrow, and I think I shall make a few glittered embellishments to put on presents to go with the packages on the dining room table.

Don't forget to save all the beautiful boxes, gift bags, embellishments, ribbons, and Christmas cards this Christmas to use again in Christmases to come. Especially save those items that go with your home's colors.
