Set a table to celebrate Labor Day with patriotic red, white, and blue. Red Fostoria glasses, blue Fitz and Floyd china, and white French Country scroll flatware reflect the colors of Old Glory and companion flags used in a centerpiece.
No easier way to create a patriotic centerpiece than to use flags and a white and gold ceramic star.

Gather the family around a French Country table and chairs for a late summer celebration, the last summer holiday of the year.
Outside the trees are still green, but have begun to drop some of their leaves. In cooler climates, the trees drop their leaves because of the lower night time temperatures. In Texas, trees drop their leaves as a way of conserving water from heat stress and little rainfall. Then in October, the temperatures cool off, and the trees lose their leaves for fall.
Regardless of the temperature, Labor Day signals a time to celebrate. It is a time still warm enough for friends and family to spend a long weekend together outside and to laugh together inside around a patriotic table.
How to set a patriotic table for Labor Day...
✰ Centerpiece
Small American flags abound at local stores, are inexpensive, and are easy to group together in a blue glass bud vase.
As a nod to my love for French decor, a small French flag is included in the centerpiece. Stars are symbolic with patriotic decor in the USA, and a small white and gold ceramic star easily fits on a small table.
Watch for star decor when Christmas decorations appear in the stores. This white ceramic star was sold as a Christmas decoration at a large decor store. However, stars can be used all year for many celebrations. Fourth of July is one of the biggest celebrations that uses stars, but stars can also be used to celebrate an athletic victory for your STAR athlete, to celebrate a birthday, and to celebrate any accomplishment for your ROCK STAR.
A small Texas flag is included to show our Texas pride.
✰ Dishes
Blue and white plates and handled soup bowls add both patriotic colors and patriotic design stripes.
The gold trim on the dishes complement the gold on the ceramic star and gold finials on the small flags. Repeating color details gives decor a cohesive look. Many people may not consciously recognize the small details in a table setting, room design, or arrangement, but the mind sees all the details and connects the overall design.
Hurrah for the red glasses, white star, and blue sugar bowl!
Cup saucers serve as glass coasters on the table. Saucers are good for catching moisture from glasses as well as from cups. Get out your cup saucers that match your china to use as a coaster to coordinate with your china.
✰ Flatware & Linens
White French Country scroll flatware goes well with the white Matelassé place mats. The place mats were cut from yardage from a local fabric store. The fabric is cotton and can be washed.
Red crest embroidered linen napkins come from French Garden House's online store. Their deep red matches the deep red of the tea glasses.
Red is another design choice that can be used for many celebrations during the year. All of the patriotic holidays . . . Memorial Day, Flag Day, 4th of July, Bastille Day (a French patriotic holiday,) Labor Day, Veteran's Day . . . are perfect occasions to use these red crest napkins.
Don't forget two of the biggest red-day celebrations, Christmas and Valentine's Day. And, you can also use this design choice in your personal RED-LETTER DAY celebrations for family and friends.
Late afternoon sunlight streaming onto the Labor Day patriotic tablesetting sparkles off the red glasses.
A perfect table setting

Have a safe and happy Labor Day Weekend
